In the USA

In the USA, the responses of the bigots - the white supremacists, the patriarchy, the cowardly bullies like potus45 and his thugs, and those inherently cowardly persons resisting change because they fear it - to the protests is heart breaking, and shows the very worst of humanity.

Those who are calling for decency, fairness and justice, and keep fighting no matter what, are inspiring and show the very best of humanity.

Those who are bystanders - including those of us in other nations - must now recall the answer by the great Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. to a question about "innocent" bystanders:

“the term is an oxymoron, for if you are a bystander, you cannot be innocent”

(which I came across in this call to declare a state of moral emergency)
