One of the things I’ve long been aware of internalised phobias (e.g., internalised sexism, internalised homophobia, etc) and the effects of people in minorities wanting to be safe by “belonging” - which is a part of Dr Ibram X. Kendi’s excellent “How to be An Anti-Racist”.
I have now come across an article on Medium which explores that sort of topic from the point of view of TGD people:
“Never Mind TERFs. Now We Have TERTAs.”
It’s a very good read (except for one snarky comment about post-operative transsexuals), and I thoroughly recommend it.
I have to admit to being utterly gobsmacked to discover there are TGD people who think gender dysphoria is a “badge of admission”, or in anyway something other than a reflection of the small-mindedness of backward societies.
