I'll occasionally publish articles about what is happening in Burma after the coup, beginning this one with articles from Frontier Myanmar, a local newspaper that appears to be good:
- medical staff engaging in civil disobedience are being threatened;
- the democratically elected party ousted by the coup has "promised to support any workers fired for opposing the coup";
- landmines and unexploded ordnance are stopping internally displaced people returning to Rakhine;
- Indonesia and Malaysia have urged ASEAN to hold talks.
Update - more articles:
- there are brave people in Burma who are protesting against the coup (and protests elsewhere as well) - see blog posts here and here (which covers the risk of a violent reaction), here, this, on the burmese military's past use of surveillance, and this, on water cannons used by the military against protestors;
- more calls for targetted sanctions;
- call for a US web company to stop working for the burmese military.
