There is Indigenous opposition to the Voice for valid reasons - mostly around other options being necessary (i.e., the Voice is not a cure all) and/or better - see here and here, for instance.
I’m not going to comment on those arguments, but what does concern me is that if the Voice, which has successfully mobilised support in a way not seen since 1967, doesn’t get up, then the other alternatives will stand even less chance of success, owing to:
- owing to the momentum of hate and suspicion that the Equality Phobic Potato and his lot will have built up;
- the exhaustion, trauma and shock, and resistance to further attention of even supporters of the Voice; and
- the reality of the political cycle, which will not allow major issues to be reconsidered immediately - partly because other matters also need to be considered, partly because of the inherent brutality of our systems, and partly because of a desire - whether valid or not - not to encourage ... “nagging” - or bullying, is perhaps a better descriptor.
If the referendum on the Voice is unsuccessful, I fear that would set Indigenous rights back years, if not decades.

Finally, remember: we need to be more human being rather than human doing.
