A turning point?

Is it possible that, with the criminal conviction of white supremacist, despotic, evil (in my opinion), rapist Trump yesterday, the world has reached a turning point for the better? 

The world has been heading in a bad direction ever since the ultra-rich elites paid their lackeys (including their effective tools Thatcher and Reagan) to introduce and push greed-and-selfishness-fostering neoliberalism in the 70s, and that turn has become even more pronounced over the last ten to fifteen years - with the election and rule of Trump and his subsequent attacks on democracy (including his effective tools, such as the US Supreme Court).

Now ... it feels like the forces of decency arrayed against the evil which is most clearly manifested in Trump have had a significant victory ...

Sounds dramatic? 

Yes - but I consider it matches the reality of what happened yesterday. 

 

PS - the reaction of the Trump cultists shows, however, that the war is not yet over ...

In writing this, I have assumed / started from the following: 

• this blog states quite clearly that it is about political and human rights matters, including lived experience of problems, and thus I will assume readers are reasonable people who have noted the content warning in the post header;
