An example of Australia’s First Peoples’ cultural heritage

Fascinating reports today (and well timed for NAIDOC Week) on an example of Australia’s First Peoples’ cultural heritage:   a ritual practiced for at least 12,000 years.See:

“New archaeological find uncovers 12,000 year-old First Nations ritual”   https://nit.com.au/02-07-2024/12271/new-archaeological-find-uncovers-12000-year-old-first-nations-ritual   “The findings demonstrate GunaiKurnai passed down cultural knowledge for countless generations, and have done so since the Last Ice Age and beyond, while also adapting and developing new knowledge and customs”

“Oldest living culture: our new research shows an Indigenous ritual passed down for 500 generations”   https://theconversation.com/oldest-living-culture-our-new-research-shows-an-indigenous-ritual-passed-down-for-500-generations-230782   “What does it mean to be one of the oldest living cultures in the world? It means despite millennia of cultural innovations, the Old Ancestors also continued to pass down cultural knowledge and know-how, generation after generation, and have done so since the last Ice Age and beyond.”

Note that, as with my main blog [see here], I am cutting back on aspects of my posts.

Remember: we need to be more human being rather than human doing, and all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering”.
