Accountability

This review of the charges and legal processes against despot djt is interesting - and informative ... and a good lead in to the topic of accountability regarding power - and there has been some need (or possible need) for accountability shown in the news, such as this (which is strongly disputed, but the drone footage would be compelling evidence) from the world of mountaineering,   the appalling violence by Israeli squatters against Palestinians - destroying entire Palestinian communities and creating the lowest point ever in US-Israeli relations,   the corruption and climate ineptness (leading to desertification) of Iran,   a decline in auditing standards,   the hypocrisy of some media (that particular outlet has also tried to set TGD people up as pat of their transphobia),   the lack of legal action against those who ordered/committed a massacre ten years ago in Egypt,   billionaires trying to destroy education,   advertising that targets gamblers,   the denial of justice to sexual assault victims by the perpetuation of myths,   and   the racism & greed & ineptness that resulted in/contributed to the deaths from a fire in Hawaii. 

Attempts to hold the powerful to account can be exhausting - as written about here, for instance, but there are good examples of what needs to be done - including   the campaigns for and creation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its legal codification into the Twin Covenants,   the ICC,   better organisation of the opponents of christo-fascism,   opposition to the genocide against women in Afghanistan - including this,   sovereignty and self-determination for Indigenous people, and human rights generally,   a court decision in favour of young people having a future,   and   this, this, and this.
