More on abuse of power [Note: Content Warning - links to reports on bigotry, abuse, sexual violence. Reader discretion is advised]

Further to yesterdays post, I wish to point out two particularly egregious examples of abuse of power - one clearly sexist, and the other involving aspects of sexual assault, and basis for concern about the United Nations (UN)

The first is the non-sexual, sexist, sexual and degrading abusive exercise of power and influence by the head of Spains soccer organisation - made most apparent by his kiss and rubbing himself against an unwilling and non-consensual female player, which was followed up by strong armed thuggery by that body.

He should be charged, and kept away from all women - and every person responsible for the attempted cover-up should be sacked and barred from all positions of power of any sort.

The suspension of that misogynist by the world soccer organisation is a welcome first step - but more is required to overcome the system that allowed such a male to think he could do that, and that others agreed he should be protected.

There are other massive systemic concern about Queensland, that think the abuse of children (and adults, for that matter) by the legal system is acceptable.

I left Queensland in the 1980s because of the massive problems with small-mindedness in the regional area I was in - and, to be honest, in the south east (where Brisbane is located).

Since then, there have been signs of decency in the south east, but all moves towards increased decency have been resisted, and the backwardness of regional areas in Queensland is shown by the rat bags they keep electing to Parliament (Hanson, Anning, Dutton, Katter, Christensen, Littleproud, Joyce, etc)

At some stage that state will have to be dragged into the late 20th century, but it will come after many people have lost their lives or had their lives destroyed - much as Queensland saw more than 60,000 people killed (many women and children who were slaughtered, and the overwhelming preponderance being First Peoples) in the frontier wars.

And it is incredibly disturbing that this is being done by an ALP government - doubly so, given how outstanding the Andrews government in Victoria has been.

And now we come to the UN - a body which, overall, I consider to have done more good than not, although it clearly has flaws. In fact, I have even provide testimony on the abuses I have experienced to one of the UNs rapporteurs, which makes the rabid transphobia of the UN Special Rapporteur for Violence Against Women and Girls, Reem Alsalem, who made outrageous and defamatory allegations about trans and gender diverse (TGD) people in the UK when changes to gender identification laws were being proposed. Those allegations and the hate expressed by that person and other transphobes has led to a transgenocide in that nation.

And the IPOC is staying silent as other nations go down the same path ... is that person satisfied with the number of deaths already caused and think no other destructions of people and lives are required?

I have written before about the personal flaws of these abusers of power.

What I want to make absolutely clear is that, in my opinion, such people have metaphorical blood on their hands because of the suffering they have caused by their hate - including those they, IMO, drove to suicide.

Those who voted for them share in that responsibility.

PS - see here, on the profound disquiet of some ALP MPs on the differences between publicly and privately stated reasons for this appalling act.
